September 2020 Bulletin (Jan 12, 2023)

Well, the 2022-2023 Holiday Season has arrived for the “Little Club That Can and Does” and we continue doing and doing. This year we have participated in the Turkey and Coat Drives, Christmas Cookies for People Helping People, and the Mission Christmas Basket Program, both on a Club and Individual basis. (Unfortunately, Old Fashion Christmas was rained out.)

The 20^th Anniversary Party will happen on January 28^th at 5pm at St. Marks. Our Keynote Speaker will be past District Governor Wade Nomura. This will be a true celebration and remembrance of all the joy, hard work and comradery we have experienced together over the last 20 years. Many Rotary Members have come and gone in this period. We will welcome our newer Members and hope to see some familiar friendly old faces on the 28^th.

This year feels very different from the past two. The World seems like a much brighter place and our spirits are rising as we exit this dark period in World History. Rotary International, District 5240, and the Rotary Club of Los Olivos , not only survived but are starting to thrive again. We are all invigorated as we look forward to all the opportunities before us to put “Service above Self”. What could be more appropriate to current experience than “The Holiday Spirit” as we embark on this adventure.

Along with my Co-Presidents, Rich and Steve, I wish everyone The Happiest of Holiday Seasons and a fantastic New Year.

2022 seemed like a transition year and we are ready for 2023!

Our Club giving out checks to help the community! Governor's visit! Pumpkin patch!

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch and corn maze! Andy and Karen got through so fast they went back in and helped the rest of us find our way out. At the end of the maze we were greeted by Judy Canby whose SUV served as the snack table and Inge-Lise's SUV provided the (discreet) beverage bar!

Plus - Dean and Barbara Davidge joined in the fun and catching-up with each other. The finale was the Spacex launch from Vandenberg which we could view from our tailgate party in the parking lot - fantastic view!

Thank you Puck and Inge-Lise for arranging/organizing the event, Inge-Lise for bringing beverages, Judy for the snacks and to all who came out for the fun and comradery.
