Our new president, John Mathews, began his year, not with a club assembly telling us his plans for the year, but with a craft talk so we could get to know him better.  We all know him as a general contractor and head of the Solvang Festival Theater.  But in an earlier life, John was not only an actor and taught acting for many years after studying with Lee Strasberg.  John asks "We already have a great club. How are we going to do better?"

 

Past president Steve gave past president Ron his "actual" plaque and past president pin as they had not arrived in time for the demotion party presentation.

 

Past president Ron will head  a committee to plan a 15th anniversary celebration in January.

 

The Solvang Senior Center will be dedicating the Tai Chi Garden on Tuesday, 7/19 at 5:00pm.  All Rotarians who worked on the project are asked to attend.

 

Dues of $150 for the new year are now payable. Please drop off a check at the next meeting you attend and save Brendan having to chase you down for payment.

Bulletins created in ClubRunner are sent by email to a mailing list and posted on our website. They can be restricted so that only logged in members can view them. If we choose that route, we can include more information for the members about what happens at board meetings and include financial data.  Your editor is willing to put in the time to prepare one bulletin a month, but not two.  What would you like to see in a bulletin?  Let Dean know.
